Face Covering Guidance
Effective June 26th, every Washingtonian in an indoor public space, will be legally required to wear a face covering. Anyone entering our offices will be required to follow this guidance. While we prefer that you have your own face covering, we will provide a mask for those that do not have one. We would also like to remind you that during this time, we are only allowing someone to come to an appointment with a patient or employee, if they require special assistance.

We appreciate your continue support to keep our clients, patients, and staff well.

We're excited to be offering N95 fit testing for healthcare professionals like dentists, so they can get back to work. We can also come to your office to perform these testing services for your convenience.

We have continued to work on ways we can maintain the safety of our clients, patients and staff. These are some of the additional measures we have added, in addition to continuing the safety and cleaning measures addressed in our first COVID email update:

  • Checking the temperature of each person who checks in at our clinics
  • Waiting room chairs are placed six feet apart from each other
  • Magazines and other items have been removed from the waiting room
  • We have a clean and dirty bin for pens, placed behind the counter. Each pen used is sanitized after each use.
  • We no longer have a candy dish available

As businesses work hard to keep the Covid-19 virus away, we would like to let you know ways that we can help. One recommendation has been to have employees that are sick, stay home. Temperature testing is now being used by some companies to check employee’s temperature. Employers should recognize that a fever (a measured temperature of 100.4 F or greater) may be a one symptom of COVID-19 but is not determinative. Indeed, an employee may be infected with COVID-19 without exhibiting a fever.

Performance Occupational Health Services (POHS) is now offering on-site services by medical professionals to test temperatures of employees. In addition, POHS is offering telemedicine services to provide face-to-face contact with a Nurse Practitioner via the Internet or phone, with employees who have a temperature and have questions if they should self-quarantine, be seen by a medical professional, etc.

Why should you consider using POHS for this service?

  • Telemedicine services with Nurse Practitioners
  • Immediate answers to Covid-19 virus questions
  • Temperatures are taken with an infrared, non-contact thermometer
  • Temperatures are taken by medical professionals wearing proper PPE;
  • Temperatures will be taken in a manner that is consistent with social distancing policies and does not reveal the thermometer reading to other employees (i.e., one at a time in a private space, with employees waiting in line spaced six feet apart).
  • When an employee’s temperature is found to be elevated, confidential employee medical information remains protected while acting on that information to protect the health and safety of others in the workplace.

Feel free to contact us if you have questions about these services or would like to schedule a time for a POHS medical professional to be on-site.

Don’t forget, we still have non-COVID-19 related telemedicine appointments available, onsite drug testing and other onsite services, while still following social distancing protocols, available.
